Mala Making Workshop

In this mala making workshop, Dana will walk you through creating your own wood and crystal bead mala. For thousands of years malas, Sanskrit for “Garland,” have been used as a tool for mindfulness during mediation. In the Sanskrit alphabet, there are 54 letters and each has a Shiva (masculine) and Shakti (feminine) variation so 54 x 2 equals 108. For this reason, malas  have 108 beads — an auspicious number representing peace, harmony & spiritual fulfillment. At the end of the workshop, Dana will lead the group in a meditation to cleanse, bless and set intentions with your mala. Materials are included to create one wood & crystal beaded mala with silk thread finished with a beautiful guru bead of your choice.
