Mala Making Workshop

In this mala making workshop, Julia will walk you through creating your own wood and crystal bead mala. For thousands of years malas, Sanskrit for “Garland,” have been used as a tool for mindfulness during mediation. In the Sanskrit alphabet, there are 54 letters and each has a Shiva (masculine) and Shakti (feminine) variation so 54 x 2 equals 108. For this reason, malas  have 108 beads — an auspicious number representing peace, harmony & spiritual fulfillment. At the end of the workshop, Julia will lead the group in a meditation to cleanse, bless and set intentions with your mala. Materials are included to create one wood and crystal beaded mala with a suede or silk tassel. We will have the tables, chairs, tools and materials you need and it will be held in our outdoor but fully covered garden workshop space. Limited to 14 guests; 16 years old and older…
